Little Red Riding Hood

Little Red Riding Hood @ Art Basel

"Little red riding hood  @ Art Basel Miami" -(Alibis for Love) Presented UBS Financial Services  Inc. - Palm Beach with the endorsement of City of Miami, Mayor’s  Office of Film, Arts &  Entertainment
This exhibit features international artists interpreting  the story of "Little  Red Riding Hood" in ways that are at times  unexpected, unsettling, poetic,  political and lyrical, but without  doubt original.

This exhibit  demonstrates how a fairy tale  changes when viewed from different cultural  perspectives, and  highlights Dot Fiftyone's goal of calling attention to  powerful new  influences from throughout the global art world.  None of  the  artists were aware of one another's work yet all developed their works   from a common set of universally recognized themes. Each work is  unique in its  own right but also a revelation on how a "fairy tale"  is constructed and how  it can be understood.  Themes of  vulnerability, terror and sexual  aggression emerge through a lattice  of ethnicity and gender to produce a  multiplicity of meanings and  nuances.
